Farmerkids Organics was my idea for unique organic shirts for kids and babies.
For years I wanted to get this business going, but having 2 small children around kept it growing slowly. Now that they let me do a little bit more designing and like to watch and help, I was able to launch my other little baby, Farmerkids Organics.
Switching over to organic foods was my first step into the better world of organics. Creating organic clothing designs was my next step. I wanted to have the shirts be a bit different, not silkscreened, but embroidered, to add a little touch of texture and folkiness. Whimsical yet simple graphics complement these super soft organic shirts and fabrics.
The tee shirts are made of 100% organic cotton and are made in sweatshop free environments in the USA. They are the softest shirts I have found.
The embroidered patches are also made with USA grown and produced 100% organic cotton. The thread used for the embroidery design is the only non organic item. It is polyester right now until I can find some strong organic thread for embroidery. We are always looking at alternatives.
Whenever possible the items are sewn on with organic cotton thread, and there are some items that are 100% organic without embroidery, just applique work.
Farmerkids Organics wants to bring a little bit of country life to all kids. Farm animals and icons are my first series. Simple graphics, letters, and abcs are graphics I love to play with and my kids love them.
Farmerkids Organics is based in NYC, but tries to get to the countryside as much as possible for fresh air, and inspiration!
